When I was young, my parents instilled in me a love for the theater. To this day, I thoroughly enjoy a good play or musical that allows me to escape the normal hustle and bustle of every day life and submerse myself in an imaginary role enveloping someone else's struggles and successes.
As my children grow up, I hope to help them learn to appreciate the arts as well.
About once every three years or so, I receive a kitchen pass from the wife to participate in some form of theatrical production. The last one in which I engaged myself was a show call "Lucky Stiff" with the Midvale Community Theater. It was great fun! I look forward to the day when I can be in a show WITH my boys. That will be awesome!
Going to the theater is a terrific form of entertainment for our family. Last night we went to a show called "Who Killed Aunt Caroline" at the Valley Center Playhouse in Lindon. Community Theater is fun because the shows are usually pretty good, less expensive, and family friendly. So, if any of you are looking for such an activity for family home evening or weekend activity , I have included some of our favorite small theaters that you can help support:
Shows playing now in our area.
Let us know if you want some company! Our family is always up for another show!
Hey Bakers your blog is cute. I just jumped on the blogging wagon and it is tons of fun. Come on over and visit ours sometime.

That is awesome. I hope I can install the same love of arts into my kids also. Do they both actually sit through to whole play? That is impressive!
I could not agree more! I am also a Drama geek and I love a great musical
luckily so does my Husband and I hope our kids will grow up with the same love for the arts. Thanks for the link- I will use it!
Chris and I just went to see "My Valley Fair Lady" at Desert Star. It was hilarious!
We sure enjoyed going to the play "Who killed Aunt Caroline" with you. It was a mystery right down until the end. Maybe next time more of us can choose the right murderer not just Gpa Rick
Thanks for the invitation!!!!

Hey, Matt! (And Jenny!) Thanks for the comment on my blog, and the nice things you said about my writing! Gosh! I'm all blushy! Blame Charnae...or really, Matt (Wariner) for my new obsession with it (I hope it lasts more than a week). We hung out the other night (name dropping) and he was telling me about all the ward bloggers. So I jumped in...woohoo! It's kinda fun. Closest I'll come to a journal these days! Don't worry about all that guy/girl thing...obviously, I have no good excuse such as "going along with my wife's silly ideas" because, well...as you know...
Anyway, if I had worried about all the things people would have thought of my masculinity, I would never have sewn, cooked, scrapbooked (well, OK, that WAS the fault of my sister....I draw the line), or many of the other "femmy" things guys worry about.
So thanks for the encouragement...back at ya...loved your blog, the kids are stunning...great pics...Jenny, you do a really fine job! :) I've added you to my faves!
